Biography
Dr. Iyengar's lab uses systems biology and systems pharmacology reasoning to address fundamental questions in mammalian biology, biomedicine, and pharmacology. Their expertise lies in the biochemistry and molecular biology of cell signaling pathways and networks, especially G protein pathways. They develop and apply experimental and computational methodologies to study general questions without confining themselves to a specific tissue or organ system.
Research Overview
The Iyengar Lab is focused on understanding how signals are processed and integrated through cellular networks to regulate cell functions in physiology and pathophysiology. They study how cell shape regulates information flow and is a source of biological information. Current projects include the multi-organ pathophysiology of COVID-19, computational models of whole-cell function, and the Kidney Atlas Project.
